So as part of our New Year's Resolutions, Andy and I decided that we wanted to work to lose weight. To help each other with this, we put a little wager on this whole idea. We decided that we would weigh ourselves once a month and whoever had lost the least percentage of weight would have to do all the laundry for a month. Well I'm sad to report that I lost miserably! I'm very proud of Andy...he lost 8 lbs. this month! I only lost 2 lbs.....oh well...maybe February will be better...right? So I've been thinking about how I need to be better all day....and then I came home tonight, pulled the icecream out of the freezer and enjoyed some icecream. I've decided that I'm addicted to sugar. This is not a good thing! Any suggestions how I can get rid of my horrible sugar tooth? I seriously just like sugar way too much...please feel free to post your suggestions.....
Well I better go start folding laundry... Ü
Fat free frozen yogurt! Almost the same as ice cream, just put a little chocolate syrup on and you're good to go! ;) (And man, you're brave to offer doing laundry!)
ReplyDeleteOk, I too LOVE sugar-we've recently been buying the low fat/low sugar kind and it's been surprisingly good. Sometimes I've told myself (like when I am going back to TX or something and know I'll eat a lot of junk there) I'll tell myself, okay no treats until I go to TX or whatever. And the first 3-5 days are torture, but after that the craving goes way down and I don't miss the sugar as much. And usually when I do eat the sweets, they are extra sweet tasting.
ReplyDeleteOkay another idea is to have fruit you like around (like grapes or clementines are super sweet to me) and eat those when you want something sweet.
Okay-I've seen this idea on the Biggest Loser they say to have a sweet gum and chew that for your craving. I think they've recently had a watermelon gum that looks good.
You could also say that you're going to let yourself have sweets once a week (like Saturday or Sunday) and so then you can have something to look forward to-maybe have your favorite treat to eat that once a week.
One last idea is to have a glass of water when you want a treat, and then if after your drink you still want it then have a little. I know for me usually I still want the sweets, but hopefully these ideas help.
Good luck! I'll be routing for you!
